Description :
The Vadzo InnoWave-521MRS is a 5.1MP monochrome camera built on the Onsemi AR0521 CMOS sensor, engineered for strong low-light performance using 2.2 µm backside-illuminated pixels. As a monochrome sensor, it captures more light per pixel than an equivalent color sensor, preserving clear detail in dim conditions rather than producing noisy or underexposed footage. The sensor delivers full HD resolution at up to 60 fps with a rolling shutter readout, supporting line-interleaved HDR processing for high-contrast scenes. The camera supports both wired GigE and wireless Dual Band Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac) connectivity, with seamless switching and fallback between the two, and GigE operating as the default when both are connected. Power is delivered via PoE (802.3af) over the GigE connection. Interchangeable S-Mount (M12) optics allow lens flexibility for different fields of view, and GPIO support enables external triggering and synchronization.

What sensor powers the Innova-521MRS?
The Onsemi AR0521 is a 5.1 MP 1/2.5" CMOS sensor with 2.2 µm backside-illuminated pixels, purpose-built for surveillance, HDR imaging, and low-light performance.
What are the video formats supported by the camera?
5.1MP at 2592 × 1944, with the sensor rated for up to 30 fps at full resolution.
Why does this camera use a monochrome sensor?
A monochrome sensor lets in more light per pixel than a color sensor, since there's no color filter blocking any of it. This makes it better suited to low-light surveillance, at the cost of not capturing color.
Does the camera have both GigE and Wi-Fi built in?
Yes. Both interfaces are present on the camera, with seamless switching and fallback between them, and GigE operates as the default when both are connected.
How is the camera powered?
Power is delivered via PoE (802.3af) over the GigE connection. Wi-Fi is used for connectivity, but the GigE cable must remain connected to supply power.
Can I change the lens on this camera?
Yes. It uses an interchangeable S-Mount (M12) lens, currently set at 79° DFOV, so you can swap lenses to suit different fields of view.
Does the camera support external triggering?
Yes, a GPIO connector is available for external trigger input and synchronization with other equipment.
Is there an API available to control the camera programmatically?
Yes. The camera includes a documented API with Swagger support, enabling direct programmatic control and easy integration into custom applications.
Does the camera support GStreamer and V4L2 controls?
Yes. The camera supports GStreamer and V4L2 controls for video streaming and camera control
