Description :
Vadzo's 5MP color GigE camera is powered by the Onsemi AR0544 CMOS image sensor, a stacked back side illuminated (BSI) design built with 1.4 µm pixel technology for versatile machine vision and general-purpose imaging applications. The sensor rolling shutter readout with support for Global Reset Release (GRR) delivers full resolution capture at up to 60 frames per second in linear mode. Enhanced near infrared response at 850 nm and 940 nm wavelengths extend performance into low light and NIR illuminated scenes. With a native color resolution of 5MP (2592 x 1944) on a 1/4.2-inch optical format, the sensor supports networked machine vision, robotics guidance, and surveillance platforms that call for high resolution imaging without the cost or complexity of a global shutter design.
The camera connects over Gigabit Ethernet, supporting both 100Base-T and 1000Base-T link speeds for streaming high resolution video across standard network infrastructure to industrial PCs, embedded vision controllers, and video management systems without a dedicated frame grabber. Power over Ethernet, compliant with the IEEE 802.3af standard, delivers data and power over a single cable, simplifying installation in multi camera networks and long cable run deployments. OnVIF compliance allows the camera to be discovered and integrated into standards-based video management systems without proprietary software. Onboard support for LI-HDR and enhanced Dynamic Range (eDR) modes extends the sensor's dynamic range up to 100 dB, giving integrators added headroom in mixed lighting conditions. Wake on Motion (WOM) support and multiple subsampling modes further allow the camera to operate at reduced power in applications where continuous full resolution streaming is not required.

What image sensor is used in this camera module?
The camera is built around the onsemi AR0544, a 5MP stacked back side illuminated CMOS sensor with 1.4 µm pixel technology, enhanced near infrared response, and support for Wake on Motion and multiple subsampling modes
What are the video formats supported by the camera?
Rolling shutter sensors read out the pixel array row by row rather than capturing the entire frame at once, which keeps sensor cost and power consumption low while still delivering high resolution video at up to 60 frames per second. This architecture is well suited to videoconferencing, webcams, doorbells, and retail monitoring, where subjects are largely stationary or move at moderate speed
How does the sensor manage high dynamic range of scenes
The AR0544 sensor offers a Line Interleaved HDR (LI-HDR) mode using T1/T2 readout as well as an enhanced Dynamic Range (eDR) mode, extending dynamic range up to 100 dB for scenes with strong contrast between bright and dark regions
How does Wake on Motion work on this camera?
The camera saves power by watching motion instead of streaming full videos all the time. Once it senses movement, it automatically switches back to full 5MP video
Does this camera support near infrared imaging?
Yes. The sensor carries enhanced NIR response at 850 nm and 940 nm wavelengths, supporting applications that rely on infrared illumination or operate in low light conditions
What power saving features does this camera support?
The AR0544 sensor includes a Wake on Motion (WOM) mode along with multiple subsampling options such as skipping, binning, and summing. These allow the camera to operate at reduced resolution and frame rate until motion is detected, which helps lower overall power consumption in battery powered or always on deployments
What is OnVIF compliance and why does it matter for this camera?
OnVIF is an industry standard that lets cameras and video management software work together regardless of brand. Because this camera is OnVIF compliant, it can be discovered and added into most existing VMS platforms without custom drivers or integration work
Can multiple camera devices be run on the same network?
Yes. Each camera operates as an independent networked device, so multiple units can be connected through a PoE switch on the same network, subject to available bandwidth and switch capacity, for multi camera surveillance or inspection setups
