Description :
Vadzo's 5MP color Rolling Shutter WiFi camera is powered by the onsemi AR0544 CMOS image sensor, a stacked back side illuminated (BSI) design built with 1.4 µm pixel technology for versatile machine vision and general-purpose imaging applications. The sensor rolling shutter readout with support for Global Reset Release (GRR) delivers full resolution capture at up to 60 frames per second in linear mode. Enhanced near infrared response at 850 nm and 940 nm wavelengths extend performance into low light and NIR illuminated scenes. With a native color resolution of 5MP (2592 x 1944) on a 1/4.2-inch optical format, the sensor supports portable machine vision, robotics guidance, and wireless surveillance platforms that call for high resolution imaging without the cost or complexity of a global shutter design.
Dual band WiFi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac) connectivity, with Bluetooth BT 5.0 available on request, lets integrators mount the camera in locations where running a network cable is impractical, from mobile platforms to retrofit installations in existing facilities. Power over Ethernet, compliant with the 802.3af standard, still delivers power over a single cable, keeping installation simple even without a wired data connection. OnVIF compliance allows the camera to be discovered and integrated into standards-based video management systems without proprietary software. Onboard support for LI-HDR and enhanced Dynamic Range (eDR) modes extends the sensor's dynamic range up to 100 dB, giving integrators added headroom in mixed lighting conditions. Wake on Motion (WOM) support and multiple subsampling modes further allow the camera to operate at reduced power in applications where continuous full resolution streaming is not required.

What image sensor is used in this camera module?
The camera is built around the onsemi AR0544, a 5MP CMOS image sensor using a stacked back side illuminated (BSI) design with 1.4 µm pixel technology, delivering versatile color imaging with enhanced near infrared response at 850 nm and 940 nm wavelengths.
What are the video formats supported by the camera?
The camera supports a native resolution of 5MP at 2592 x 1944 pixels, with rolling shutter readout delivering up to 60 frames per second in linear mode.
Why choose a WiFi interface for this camera instead of a wired connection?
Dual band WiFi removes the need to run a network cable to the camera location, which helps on mobile platforms, retrofit projects, and sites where cable routing is difficult. Power over Ethernet still delivers power over a single cable, so only one connection point is needed even without a wired data run.
Does this camera support Power over Ethernet (PoE)?
Yes. The Wave-544CRS draws power through a Power over Ethernet connection compliant with the 802.3af standard.
Does this camera support Bluetooth connectivity?
Bluetooth BT 5.0 is available on request alongside the dual band WiFi interface, giving integrators an additional short range wireless option for configuration or low bandwidth communication.
Does this camera support Wake on Motion for low power operation?
Yes. The AR0544 supports Wake on Motion modes that allow the camera to operate at low power and resume full 5MP capture when motion is detected
Can multiple Wave-544CRS units operate in the same facility?
Yes. Each camera connects independently over WiFi, so several units can operate within range of the same wireless network, subject to available bandwidth and access point capacity.
Can the lens be changed on this camera?
Yes. The camera uses a standard S-Mount (M12) allowing integrators to fit an alternate S-Mount lens to match the field of view or working distance their application requires while retaining day and night imaging.
What operating conditions can this camera withstand?
The Wave-544CRS operates across a range of -30°C to +85°C, matching the Wave series WiFi interface reference used for this build.
What certifications does this camera meet?
The camera is OnVIF Compliant and designed to conform to RoHS 3 and REACH standards, with wireless certification details for the WiFi and Bluetooth module to be confirmed for this build.
